Side Dish Ideas For Your Alaskan Smoked Salmon

Posted on

Alaskan smoked salmon from a dealer like Alaskan Smoked Salmon & Seafood can be a wonderful main entree for lunch or dinner. Not only does it taste great, but it's also healthy and packed with protein. Whether you're looking for something to eat for lunch on a regular weekday, or if you want something fancy to serve at a nice dinner for guests, Alaskan smoked salmon can be the perfect choice.

One thing that you might be unsure of, however, is what you should serve with your smoked salmon. If you're looking for ideas and inspiration, try one of these ideas.

Rice Pilaf

Smoked salmon tastes great when served on top of or alongside of a nice rice pilaf. Skip the boxed mix, however; instead, try making your own. Simply sautee diced onions, celery, carrots and other favorite vegetables in a little bit of oil, then add your long-grain white rice and allow it to cook in the butter until it is nice and brown. Then, simply add a little bit of chicken broth or another favorite broth and a few seasonings of your choice, and cook your rice for the amount of time directed on the package. This side dish is super easy to make, and it's nice and flavorful, but it won't overwhelm the taste of your delicious salmon.

Steamed Vegetables

Buy some fresh seasonal vegetables, such as broccoli and cauliflower, and then steam them in a covered pan with a tiny amount of simmering water. Add a little bit of salt, pepper and your other favorite seasonings, and consider dusting with Parmesan cheese before serving.

Roasted Potatoes

Roasted potatoes make a wonderful side dish to go along with Alaskan smoked salmon. Dice your favorite potato up into smaller cubes, and pour olive oil or melted butter on top of them. Then, sprinkle on lots of seasonings, and don't forget the fresh herbs. One great option is fresh rosemary, but you can add other favorites as well. Then, roast the potatoes in a hot oven until they are nice and crispy. They should be crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, which is sure to pair perfectly with your salmon.

Pasta

A nice, light pasta salad is often the perfect accompaniment to smoked salmon. Toss pasta with Italian dressing, and add in chopped tomatoes, olives and chunks of cheese. If you would prefer something warm, try serving buttered pasta that is tossed with chopped fresh herbs.

As you can see, there are a lot of tasty options to serve alongside your Alaskan smoked salmon. Try one of these side dishes, and you're sure to enjoy your tasty and flavorful meal.
